Hotel Muchele****S

Grandpa Ganthaler built Muchele for his beloved wife in 1952. Back then, the Schiava grapes grew right up to the terrace and wherever you looked, you could see these romantic grapevines. Today, three generations of hosts live and love their passion for wine and their heartfelt joy for hospitality. Hansjörg, his wife Franziska and their three daughters Martina, Priska and Anna are the heart of this delightfully uncomplicated and endearing hotel in the design-savvy style of a private villa in Postal near Merano. With 40 suites, Muchele presents itself as a fine hotel where guests can relax in a cosy home away from home, here in South Tyrol. Rigidly planned offers are not to be found; Muchele’s guests enjoy its easy-going individuality, space for endless relaxation and honest, down-to-earth cuisine without the fuss.

Fall in love anew every day with the refreshing and naturally designed character of Muchele, most of which is attributable to the creative hand of Italian designer Moroso.

Vinum Hotels Muchele Schwestern

At Hotel Muchele, a great deal of time is devoted to wine. Of the five hosts, three are qualified sommeliers, as are two of the hotel's loyal staff members and they then share their fascination for wine with wine-loving guests. More than 600 wines from South Tyrol, Italy and the rest of the world lie slumbering in the clay-clad wine cellar, otherwise lovingly referred to as the "boss's office". Muchele-guests love hearing competent advice from wine experts, and which often includes surprises and novelties thus completing a good meal in style. Twice a week, entertaining and highly informative wine tastings are also organised, with a wealth of tips and wonderful stories.

Martina's favourite place is located directly opposite the clay wine cellar in the cosy hotel bar, - the green bohemian armchair created by the designer Patricia Urquiola. The refined design exudes so much  cosiness and well-being that you won't want to get up.

With a glass of wine and the breathtaking view of the mountain silhouette, this designer piece is a very special Muchele spot. Just like Anna-Spa - the wellness and relaxation area with its 21-metre-long porphyry infinity pool in a Mediterranean atmosphere flanked by a palm garden and olive trees. And the three light-flooded saunas with beautiful views of greenery are pure relaxation and an architectural marvel to boot.

Muchele likes to be a tad different; colourful, loving, enjoyable and uplifting, where these very special hosts focus on the individual, their stories and their needs. With much laughter, excellent food and informal, relaxed company, it’s simply a holiday at home in South Tyrol!
