Family-run winery with a personal atmosphere, surrounded by vineyards

Klosterhof is located in one of the most tranquil residential areas in the wine village of Caldaro/Kaltern. It is nestled amidst lush greenery, and surrounded by a unique vineyard landscape. It's no wonder then that the hotel's owners, the Andergassen family, are dyed-inthe-world winegrowers: the head of the family, Oskar Andergassen, has turned himself into

a dedicated do-it-yourself winemaker after completing agricultural college and winemaker training. As a founding member of the Independent Winegrowers of South Tyrol, he is among the innovative winemakers in the province who feel committed to extremely high quality standards.

From his prime vineyard sites – Trifall, Plantaditsch and Panigl – Andergassen makes strongly fruit-driven, velvety mellow and elegant wines in his homemade cellar: Vernatsch Kalterer See Auslese, Pinot blanc, Pinot noir, Goldmuskateller, Gewürztraminer, Merlot and even a Pinot noir rosé. The Klosterhof is an authentic family business, and reception of hotel

guests is accordingly warm and hospitable. In fact, seeing to the wellbeing of guests is an around-the-clock concern for the entire Andergassen family.

In the spirit of staying close to nature, the spacious rooms are also equipped with oiled natural wood floors: larch, oak and acacia wood from local forests evoke wine barrels. With the help of his son Hannes, Oskar Andergassen also produces high-quality fruit juices and, since 2013, fine spirits in the new distillery. They make rare brandies from apricot, Williams

pear, Goldmuskateller, Pinot noir, plum, quince and Grafenstein apples – all produced 100% by hand, of course.
