Hotel Weisses Kreuz****S

A traditional house with history on the village square of Burgeis. Nobody knows how long this historic house has existed, but it has been owned by the Theiner family since 1871. Presumably, the original building is around 1000 years old and was previously used as a travellers' hospice, grocer's shop and farmhouse. But in any case, it has always been a place of encounter and hospitality.

Just opposite, separated only by the village fountain, is Ansitz zum Löwen, a unique, listed building with nine extraordinary suites. A building steeped in history and with stories to tell.

Since 2013, Weisse Kreuz has been carefully renovated and expanded with the help of architect duo Marx and Ladurner. Today, this stunning property successfully combines modern design with cosy alpine comfort. Design enthusiasts will immediately fall in love with this beautiful hotel with its exquisitely furnished rooms and suites. Charming design has been perfectly combined with modern nuances.

Reside in princely renaissance rooms and sleep under century-old, ornately carved wooden ceilings - glimpse into the past with the luxurious comfort of the present. Mara and Marc are young hosts with heart and passion. They are always present, but never intrusive. Supported by a large family who all have hospitality in their blood. Mum Marlene is always on hand and has the best tips for mountain hikes and bike tours. Dad Thomas, the gentle spirit behind the scenes, making sure things run smoothly. And you can always rely on the rest of the hotel family.

Since 2022, the hotel has offered a new culinary highlight, Mamesa a gourmet restaurant. Head chef Marc, an award-winning and passionate gourmet, cooks for guests at the highest level. "We serve what we love!

Excellent products from our area, freshly prepared with a modern twist. The kitchen team's motto is "Glocal - global, but local" - products from the region, but also from extra special places. With a choice of five or eight courses, you can enjoy, for example, Wagyu beef from our own farm, complemented by fresh produce from the Vinschgau Valley. There are also Asian and French influences - a refreshing combination of products from all over the world with South Tyrolean down-to-earthness.

A delicious menu needs an excellent wine. Mara is a sommelier and inherited her passion for wine from her father. The wine cellar is lovingly stocked with excellent wines. Wine tastings are a regular feature of the hotel's programme. South Tyrolean wines are tasted and sometimes also Mara's favourite wines such as German Rieslings, Barolo and Pinot Noir.
