SomVita Suites - the name says it all - four symbolic diamonds aesthetically sum up the hotel's refreshed approach - SomVino, SomView, SomVital, SomVibes.
Somvita Suites stands for modern, dynamic and regional - this recently renovated hotel beams at the entrance to South Tyrol's historic stronghold of Dorf Tirol inviting you to take a relaxing break in an exclusive atmosphere. Elegant architecture with refined accents from the surrounding nature have been planned and realised down to the smallest detail. 30 new suites in soft, natural colours, created by local craftsmen, now want to present themselves to guests.
SomVino - the up-and-coming restaurant and new hotspot for all those for whom culinary pleasure is not a minor matter. Dennis, the head chef, prepares South Tyrolean and Mediterranean dishes, for which he has already won several prizes. SomVino's centrepiece are two wine cabinets in the middle of the room, one for white and one for red, perfectly temperature-regulated and clearly arranged. No one should pass up the opportunity to select their favourite wines from these shelves, taken care of by René, the sommelier
SomView - the breathtaking view over mountain peaks and forests, apple orchards and vineyards makes these modern suites glow with special splendour. Right at the very top, on the roof terrace, the unique 360-degree panorama may even make your heart skip a beat.
SomVital - Two spa zones, a large pool, three saunas, two relaxation rooms, an infinity pool and a roof-top sky bar provide the perfect balance for body, mind and soul. In addition, a healthy breakfast to brighten up your day with homemade treats, preserves and freshly cooked dishes are all prepared with love and available at the buffet.
Somvibes - it’s not happening without a feel-good factor . This is guaranteed by the welcoming atmosphere of the hotel, its friendly hosts and weekly live music evenings, where locals and guests enjoy meeting up for a chat.
- Themed wine tastings with René, the sommelier
- T-bone, tomahawk and wagyu from the Josper charcoal grill
- Infinity pool with a unique view
- Live music for guests and locals on Saturdays

When old gives way to new
Yes, good things do happen from time to time. Years of experience applied to bold new beginnings, blending tradition with modernity and composure with a sense of optimism. The Somvits have done it, and the end result is something to be proud of.
Grandpa and Grandma opened the business in the early 1960s as a small room rental with four units, offering accommodation to travellers. Their successors Josef and Annemarie turned it into a 3-star B&B and were serving their guests a hearty breakfast even back then. Their son Alexander is the new shooting star in their home. Eight years ago, he took over the running of the business and turned the entire concept on its head. He likes things to be new, modern, exciting and culinarily top-notch for his guests. By redeveloping the hotel, he has achieved this and taken it to a new level. Elegant suites with breakfast and gourmet à la carte dining, garnished with beautiful views, inviting spa areas with pools and saunas and a feel-good factor throughout the hotel.
SomVita Suites is a place where locals and guests meet, chat and sometimes also round off the evening with a nightcap at the bar. Or they raise a glass of a South Tyrolean Sauvignon with Alexander, this being his favourite wine, high up on the Sky Terrace - all of this happens at Somvita Suites, and is indeed what makes this place so special.
wine-growing region
Merano and environs
Vernatsch enjoyed a great deal of appreciation as the “grape cure” in Merano during the century before the First World War. Since time immemorial, Vernatsch has been known here as Meraner Hügel – a lighter and very spicy type of Vernatsch. In 1852 Archduke Johann introduced the first Pinot noir and Pinot blanc: a pioneering achievement with positive consequences.
