Historical wine-tasting hotel with its own wine estate and cellars
Tradition, wine, architecture and culture
One of the most charming addresses among South Tyrol's gourmet hotels, with historical rooms, outstanding wine cellars and stylish, highly regarded living quarters in which no two rooms are alike.
This wine hotel is appreciated for its fine Tyrolean cuisine with fresh herbs and vegetables from our own garden, as well as for its wide range of wellness options, including heated indoor and outdoor pools and a delightful spa complex. Our white wines from the Eisacktal Valley are among the best that South Tyrolean wineries have to offer: Pacherhof's Grüner Veltliner, Sylvaner, Gewurztraminer and Pinot Grigio are regularly honored with Italy's top awards.
Vineyard visit, cellar tour and tasting
Every week a vineyard visit, cellar tour and tasting are held for hotel guests and for groups, by reservation, under the ancient vaults. Surcharge is €10 p.p. (five wines); tasting of several wines, €2 each.
Modern architecture within ancient walls
Preserved culture; an old wine estate in a beautiful location on a hillside above Novacella/Neustift Abbey; farm is protected as a historical monument, and stylishly extended with modern architecture; vineyard architecture (= dry masonry walls) extends to the sun terrace, connecting Pacherhof to the surrounding wineries in a very harmonious way.
Award-winning wines
Our wines have repeatedly won prizes for years. In addition to our largest market, Italy, we export to the USA, Belgium, Denmark and Germany.
Member of the EisackWein initiative
Pacherhof is a member of the EisackWein initiative, the members of which include wine farms in Valle Isarco/Eisacktal, which are highly dedicated to wine and to increasing appreciation of its value.

Hotel with its own winery
Weingut Hotel Pacherhof has a long and rich history. In fact, the first historical documentation of the structure dates to the Middle Ages, all the way back to 1142. The historical walls and Stube parlors of the listed Vinum Hotel have been extremely well preserved; an effective annex in the modern country style floods the building with light, the result of large-scale glazing.
A long-established family of hoteliers, the Hubers leave nothing to chance: even the smallest details are attended to lovingly, with striking professional diligence. The spacious annex rooms and the sagely renovated, cozy rooms in the historical building offer the opportunity to spend a few romantic days in the heart of the wine-growing municipality of Novacella/Neustift. The heated outdoor and indoor pools, together with the tranquility and atmospheric feel of the nearby Kloster Neustift Abbey, offer guests both leisure time and recreation in an enchanting vineyard landscape. Every move of the well-practiced kitchen team is tried and true: the level of cuisine, with a South Tyrolean focus yet enhanced by Mediterranean cuisine, will please even the most discerning palates.
Müller Thurgau, Sylvaner, Kerner, Pinot gris, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling and international-caliber Gewurztraminer thrive on the old vines of the terraced Pacherhof wine estates. Winemaker Andreas Huber is one of the leading winemakers of the illustrious Valle Isarco/Eisacktal wine-growing area. A vineyard and cellar tour with wine tasting in the "new" old wine cellar are an extraordinary experience. Jens Priewe, Germany's best-known wine writer, went into raptures about the Pacherhof wines: “Only a few manage to create fine wines this elegant, with this level of varietal character and with this much substance, while at the same such moderate alcohol content, as do the Huber father and son.”

A wine-tasting hotel with new suites and bold colors
This small, welcoming design hotel has focused on hospitality since 1952. In collaboration with architect Stephan Marx, forty new suites were built as well as a casual, colorful bar and clay enoteca with an impressive 402 labels.
Here tradition and modernity have been boldly fused. The coffee served on the terrace at breakfast is roasted in-house and filtered by hand. The cozy restaurant, with a large glass front, serves food in a casual atmosphere. The spa area, which has a 21-meter indoor/outdoor pool, will please even the most discriminating guests.

Refreshingly casual and unaffectedly designed
The family tradition goes back to 1952, when Johann Ganthaler built the Muchele Vinum Hotel; his grandchildren are now keeping that tradition alive in the third generation. The Muchele was radically restructured in 2015, together with South Tyrolean architect Stephan Marx, with boldly modern design and a strong feeling for the Heimat, the homeland. The Muchele is a very special hotel. The family runs it with a lot of heart, and it’s ideally situated just five kilometers outside of spa resort of Merano. It is a charming place with only 40 rooms and suites, all recently redesigned.
The painstaking design features locally sourced materials such as porphyry and chestnut wood, as well as ornate, symbolic iron latticework. This little place is ideal for anyone who loves visiting South Tyrol. The hotel bar is a large living space in the open air. Wine is a among the hotelier family’s greatest passions. As a result, the boss’s “office” is the new brick-earth enoteca, which proudly carries 402 labels. Whether in the rustic, 150-year-old Stube parlor from Val Venosta/Vinschgau, relaxing on the cool Moroso garden furniture or dining at the completely glassed-in restaurant, wine takes center stage at the Muchele – and the celebrating of it enhances the casual, buoyant atmosphere.
The Ganthaler family and its loyal employees take enough time to advise every guest personally. The head of the family, Hansjörg, loves leading wine tastings: they are always very rewarding and usually end up being quite entertaining. Guests at the Muchele constantly come into contact with the world of wine. Activities offered include wine walks from the hotel with the host family or a visit to the vineyards of the neighboring winery, Moarhof; another option for wine enthusiasts is a visit to the innovative Ansitz Eichenstein Winery (Marlengo/Marling), including tour and tasting. At the hotel’s casual, colorfully decorated bar there are always at least ten white and red wines open. In addition to wine and genuine South Tyrolean cuisine made with quality products, the Ganthaler family loves coffee. In fact, a family member has operated South Tyrol’s smallest coffee roastery in Vinschgau for the last three years, with a lot of passion and commitment. Quality beans are manually refined here, using traditional drum roasting.
One of the wine highlights is the Architecture Wine Days (Architektur-Weintage), which take place twice a year. Another major event is the International WineFestival, which brings countless wine producers selected from all over the world to Merano every year, on the second weekend in November.

Gourmet hotel in Feldthurns
Wine-tasting hotel with splendid vistas
For a long time now, the up-and-coming Eisacktal Valley has been causing a sensation as a white-wine valley within the landscape of Alto Adige (South Tyrol) wines. Situated on a sunny panoramic terrace, this spa hotel is owned by the Dorfmann family and offers personally escorted wine tours as well as cuisine that leaves nary a gourmet’s palate wanting.
Feldthurns, which has three organic wineries, offers hikers extended hikes that run past vineyards, hay meadows and chestnut groves. The medieval town of Klausen, which Albrecht Dürer painted, is also within easy walking distance. On the terrace of the Feldthurnerhof, you can even see the bizarre rock formations of the Dolomite beckoning in the distance.

Wellness, wine and walking – with prospects
The scenic village of Feldthurns has a long history of wine, and lies along a placid, very sunny mid-altitude mountain road. The Feldthurnerhof Vinum Hotel, run by the Dorfmann family, affords spectacular views across the jagged peaks of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites. The six wineries located in and around Feldthurns have contributed strongly to the wonderful Eisacktal Valley wines, whose international reputation has been taking flight. For this gourmet-focused hotel, the Dorfmann family has compiled a fabulous wine list with more than 180 labels – with a special focus on Eisacktal wines, especially the whites.
The sommelier of the house has a special touch when it comes to pairing wines with the hotel's specialty menus, which are built upon fine regional and Mediterranean cuisine. A committed member of the Eisacktaler Genuss-Gasthäuser association, the Feldthurnerhof Vinum Hotel participates in all of the specialty weeks, based on local, seasonal ingredients sourced from the Isarco/Eisacktal Valley: local Eisacktal specialties in March, asparagus and health-conscious dishes in May and South Tyrol's seasonal chestnut recipes in October and November.
Weekly tours of wineries or winegrowers offer guests in-depth, in-person dialogue about the history and secrets of South Tyrolean viticulture. In autumn, young wine and ripe chestnuts take center stage: in Eisacktal the traditional Törggelen takes the form of a hearty Brettljause snack board, served with the season's new wine and, of course, the heavenly fragrance of roasted chestnuts. The Feldthurnerhof offers guests a relaxing hike – the customary way of traveling to a Törggelen party: after working up an appetite, the wine cellar is waiting. The excursion is capped off by a nice long chat in the cozy and rustic atmosphere of a traditional Stube parlor.
