The Eppan Castle Triangle is a beautiful castle hike accentuated by breathtaking views that takes you back again and again to medieval South Tyrol.
On the Three Castle Hike, you will get to discover Hocheppan Castle, the Boymont Castle ruins and, of course, Korb Castle, where this art history hike begins. First, you reach Hocheppan Castle via a pleasant hiking trail through scrub forest with a splendid view of Bolzano and the Dolomites. Boldly built on a rock, the castle combines the romance of a medieval castle complex with the beauty of the landscape. The castle chapel of Hocheppan, which is also known as the "Sistine Chapel of the Alps" thanks to its valuable Romanesque frescoes, is particularly worth a visit. The route then continues along a somewhat more adventurous narrow path of porphyry stones towards the Boymont Castle ruins situated on a magnificent vantage point. The castle tavern is a good place to stop for refreshments before returning to Korb Castle.
