"If there is one typology that applies to all South Tyrolean wines, it is the clear primary fruitiness of the wines. The primary aromas range from the delicate pear aroma of Pinot Blanc to the violet and almond aromas of Vernatsch wines to the blueberry and blackberry fruity Cabernet. Today, South Tyrol is a wine region to be taken seriously, worthy of comparison to the other larger and more renowned wine-growing regions. It produces high-quality wines with excellent vine varietal typical plants." enthuses one of the most distinguished German wine authors Jens Priewe over South Tyrol, the oldest wine region in the German-speaking area.

"Top of Südtirol Wein 2019" in "Gustelier" offers a unique opportunity for guests of VINUM Hotels South Tyrol who are as experienced as they are curious about wine, to finally be able to taste all the wines at the same time & "in one place". The VINUM-Hotel - December Wine Letter:
Historical Recipes for Christmas & New Year's Eve

>>For centuries, South Tyrol has been a meeting place for northerners and southerners, farmers and world travellers. This now finds expression in its cuisine. Austria, Bavaria and Italy have revealed their culinary secrets combining savoury, farmhouse dishes with the art of cooking that has always amazed the stranger.<< (Master Chef Andreas Hellrigl)

Andreas Hellrigl (1932 - 1993) was not only one of the best chefs of his time, initially as a Michelin starred chef in Merano and then towards the end of his far too short life, as a culinary ambassador at his gourmet restaurant "Palio" in New York - Hellrigl, crossed culinary borders, showing and opening up South Tyrolean cuisine to new worlds, ideas, combinations and compositions. In this context, one may… no one must regard him as the cultural precursor of South Tyrolean modernity on the stove, indeed as the forerunner and inspiration to the highly acclaimed star chefs of our day.
